Pulse FM to bring live road coverage of 2015 Commonwealth Conference women’s basketball playoffs

Swinging Bridge Staff Report

90.7 Pulse FM, Messiah College’s student radio station, will be traveling to Reading, Pa. on Wednesday evening to bring live coverage of the 2015 Commonwealth Conference women’s basketball championships. #3 seed Messiah (13-12, 9-7 Commonwealth Conference) will play #2 seed Albright (19-6, 13-3) in a semifinal game at 7 p.m. at Albright’s Bollman Center.

Ashlyn Miller, Phil Naegely, and Joel Hoover will be bringing the call of the action. Pregame coverage will begin around 6:45 p.m.

Albright defeated Messiah in both regular season meetings between the two teams. The Lions claimed a 65-57 win over the Falcons on Jan. 10 in Reading, as they held Messiah to just 36% shooting from the field and shot 53% on their own attempts. Despite cutting a 10-point deficit at halftime to just two at one point in the second half, Messiah also dropped a 74-62 decision to Albright in the rematch between the two teams on Feb. 11 in Grantham.

Messiah are the defending Commonwealth Conference tournament champions, while Albright are making their first appearance in the tournament in six seasons. The winner will play the winner of tomorrow’s #1 Stevenson-#4 Lebanon Valley game on Saturday for the Commonwealth championship and an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championships.
