Messiah College’s Public Relations Society of America (PRSSA) will be holding a “Paint the Campus Purple” event Wednesday for World Cancer Day.

PRSSA has encouraged Messiah students to wear purple for the day in support of the fight against cancer. The organization will have a table outside Lottie Nelson Dining Hall for students to learn more about the upcoming Relay for Life and sign up their team.

They will also have a Paint the Campus Purple photo booth set up for people to take part in, and purple iced cupcakes will be served.

World Cancer Day is a global campaign of over 600 events centered around fighting against cancer. According to the Day’s website, their 2015 tagline is “Not beyond us”, with a positive and proactive approach toward four areas of focus: choosing healthy lives, delivering early detection, achieving treatment for all, and maximizing quality of life.

More information on World Cancer Day can be found at the campaign’s website here.

Messiah College will be hosting a Relay for Life event on April 17-18 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. More information can be found at the Relay for Life of Messiah College Facebook page, or at the official web page for the event.
